I stopped breast feeding dd (13 months) last week and have been getting appalling night sweats since - i assume it's hormonal but wondered if anyone had any advice as to anything that might help calm them down a bit or reassurance as to how long it might go on for?

i remember this from when i stopped after dc1, i also breastfed for 13 months, unfortunatly i still have baby brain from dc2 so can not remember how long it lasted but it was not excessivly long, sorry this feels like a completely pointness answer Smile i just wanted you to know i had the same thing Grin.

Is it only at night? Are you feeling feverish or achy during the day or do you still have any tender or red patches on your breasts? Getting blocked ducts is fairly common after stopping so if your symptoms are more general it may be worth looking at how to manage it. Hope you feel better soon.

Oh is this what it is? I thought I was I'll! I've massively cut back on feeds in the last few weeks and I'm soooooo sweaty at night. I thought it might be the heating, the duvet. I didn't make the connection but of course it's the hormones!

jolly, yes def just a night, and got no soreness (and in fact milk production seems to have stopped very quickly, have only got the odd dribble now) but thank you for the thought!

kaz, i'm reassuringly normal then Smile

siamese, i shall cross my fingers for me and you that it abates soon, as it's not a totally delightful experience, is it...
