Do I need to buy the next size up bottle teats or can I enlarge the hole on the 0-3 month teat

DD is now 4 months old. She is EBF and just has the occasional bottle of EBM - only about once a fortnight or so. So I only have one bottle and teat and it is obviously not been used much. I am leaving her for one night in a few weeks time so she will be having 4 bottles or so on that night.

I just wondered if:

  1. It's ok to carry on using the 0-3month teat if she doesnt mind
  2. Whether I can make extra holes in the teat
  3. Whether I can enlarge the current hole

or whether I need to buy a 3-6 month teat which seems a waste of money as the other one is barely used and this one wouldnt be used much apart from that one night!

My 2 year old still uses newborn teats!

I think you're supposed to stick with the 0-3 month teat with BF babies who have bottles. I certainly have with my two who have bottles 4 days a week when I'm at work. DS1 until 10 months and DS2 currently 6 months. Had no complaints, so save yourself the money!

yes, you can carry on using the teats if she seems happy with them.

we kept DD on 0-3 month teats until we stopped giving her milk in the day, about 10 months. However, we were having issues with her getting enough water when weaning, so for her water bottle we enlarged the teat and it worked great.
