I am back at work in 5 week , sadly, and as I do not want to express am moving slowly to FF

but am not sure how many bottles of FF a typical 6 month baby has, he is large and on 3 meals a day now

any advice appreciated, and I suspect I might still BF in mornings and nights, but maybe not as may have to travel for work

thanks

How many breastfeeds does he have now?

I'm breastfeeding, but when I have left mine for the day he has had a cup of formula (about 100-120ml) mid-morning and mid-afternoon, with breastfeeds morning, bedtime and night. Exclusively formula feeding friends seem to have their 6 month olds on 3-4 bottles a day.

As a general rule, and 6+ month baby on 3 meals needs at least 500-600ml formula a day.

at that age ds had 5 feeds with one being in the night i.e. 4 day feeds and 1 night feed.

Porcamisera, just to let you know that there may be another option for you depending on your hours. I went back to work when DD was 7 months - I guess the same age as your DS will be - and since she won't take milk from bottle or cup she is having no milk in the day. She takes water with food, plenty of dairy in her food and I breastfeed morning, evening and overnight. I'm not expressing at work - I didn't want to either. Might be worth a thought to see if you could manage something similar?
