Can I freeze EBM that has been in fridge for 24 hours?

Question says it all. Expressed yesterday to send into nursery but forgot to send it. Can I now freeze it? Or can I keep it until tomorrow maybe?

I have looked online but the advice is confusing me!

I dont think you can. The advice I follow is you can downgrade but not upgrade, so you can move from the freezer to the fridge but not other way round. I do think you can keep it for a bit longer though if it has been in the fridge since you expressed. I keep mine for up to 3 days in the fridge if not previously frozen. Some websites say up to 5 days. HTH.

Thanks - I will use it tomorrow then!

I express for a milk bank and their rules are that as long as it has been in the fridge no longer than 24 hours it can go in the freezer.

I also freeze if less than 24 hrs old. Sometimes I mix fresh milk (chilled first) and say 12 hr old milk.

Yes you can mix anything up to 24 hours, then freeze, just date it the date of the oldest milk.

Yes I would (and have)
