DD2 is 3 weeks on friday.
she was 10lb3oz at birth, only lost 1% then at 10 days had gone 50g over her birthweight, so feeding was fine to start with. I fed DD1 for 3.5 years, she self weaned just after DD2 was born (when my milk came in she didn't like it) so I thought I was a pro at feeding!

DD2's latch seems great, aside from a tiny bit of clicking which I adjust her/my boob to stop when I hear it. I've not had any soreness.

I do however have a ridiculous amount of milk, she starts a feed and then the milk flow is just too much for her to cope with, so she pulls off, screams, goes back on... this continues until she refuses to go back on and then just screams, she never seems to reach a point of being satisfied, or get to that 'drunk baby' state which DD1 used to, she's never fallen asleep at the breast etc.

I wind her lots during the feed but that doesn't seem to help. I've been block feeding, but that just means we slowly work our way through one boob while the other gets more and more full, so when it comes to feeding from that one there's so much milk it's just hopeless.

this morning she did a green poo so that means she's not getting enough hindmilk doesn't it?

I just don't know what to do, feeding her just for her to made so uncomfortable and upset by it is horrible.

www.kellymom.com then use the site's search engine with 'oversupply, fastletdown'. Lots of great information will come up.

congratulations on your baby. Smile

Not much advice other than to say green poo can be normal and doesnt always mean too much foremilk. Also that my DS has never fallen asleep at the boob. How long have you been block nursing for? Have you read the stuff on kellymom here

have been block nursing for 2 days, so I need to give that more time I think.

just been given a last min appointment at a cranial osteopath who only asks you to pay what you can afford, so have to dash now (DD2's birth was bit of a rough ride for her) , will look at kellymom later. thankyou!

One green poo is not something to worry about in a young baby. If it really is an issue with getting fattier milk (the old fore/hindmilk issue) then poos will pretty much always be green and will likely be frothy and/or pesto-like (been there twice now with DD).
