Feel like I've been chewed up and spat out

I'm feeling very sorry for myself after a long weekend and would like any reassurance or advice please.

DD is ebf and almost 8 months. She is going through a really clingy phase and does not want me out of her sight.

We co-sleep and it was going really well. She'd feed 2 maybe 3 times a night. Occasionally more. The last few nights, however, she does not want to let go and seems to want to stay latched on all night. This is causing a lot of pain since her top teeth have just come through and she is biting me a lot.

Last night I'd had enough. She'd been feeding roughly every 45mins to an hour since she'd gone to bed at 8 p.m. She fed at 3 a.m. and then started yelling when I tried to setttle her. I got her some calpol because it seemed that her teeth were bothering her. I took her back to bed and gave her another good feed. She fell asleep but woke up 15 minutes later demanding to latch again. I refused and she screamed the house down for an entire hour. She finally fell asleep in my arms and slept until 5.

Please tell me its a phase and it will pass. I don't remember such extreme behaviour from her brother. Is there anything else I can try other than the cold turkey approach. She refuses a bottle and a dummy.

Just had a few days of similar with my 9mo - she was teething and unwell with a virus. It did pass within a week or so, but I am lucky in that she will happily take bottles and settled with a dummy for an hour or two. No advice but loads of sympathy!

I'm no expert, but fwiw getting babies to settle without nursing is a big theme in 'the no cry sleep solution' (written by a co-sleeping mom). Maybe it could help?
