Thrush in vagina/vulva and bf

I am being driven crazy by itching. GP gave me nystaform on Monday which has made things marginally better but I can't use it internally and it makes it soooo itchy for about an hour after I use it.
Can I use a canesten tablet, it says online you can't use it when bf.
Also, is there anything I can show my GP in case I need to go back and he tells me off for taking it?
TIA

If it's fluconazole then you can take it - it's prescribed for breastfeeding mothers with breast thrush too.
