I have to go for an interview tomorrow for an hour - can't get out of it - long complicated story - with v young DD. My mum will be looking after her in reception and I'll feed her just before I go in. But I'd like to leave a bottle just in case. It'll take me about an hour to get to the interview though - will that be ok? DD is nearly 6 weeks....has been EBF, and never had a bottle but can't bear the thought of her crying for an hour while I'm tied up even if I've fed her just before I go in....and so want to offer an option.

4 hours. Was told that in SCBU in 2009.

Good luck with interview!

It's 6 hours out of the fridge and you have 6 hours too once the bottle has been started (if previously refridgerated then warmed).

See here for info on all the storage times (fridge/freezer/room temp).

That's why I said 2009 - it goes up every year! (in 2008 I was told 2 hours)

It's amazing what they can discover in a few short years! Gotta love science :)

In 2006 I was told 1 hour so I threw 2oz of colostrum away after DD1 wouldn't drink it after a blood test for jaundice. I dread to think how many times it took to get that much colostrum (I think 6+ times). It still makes me Sad.

God yes! As I said, ds2 was in scbu and I was giving 2 ml of colostrum a time to start with. I was upset because a lot was wasted when he moved hospital.
