Anyone have an older baby who still likes night time feeding parties?!

My baby is 6.5 months and still loves her nighttime feeds has one roughly 10pm 1am 3:30am and 6.
Admittedly they are short now ( most of the time) but starting to wonder if I have actually given birth to an owl.

Fernie, I'd say that was pretty normal. Both of mine ended up sleeping with us. DD used to wake about those times, stick herself on, feed for a few mins then role over, burp and start snoring again.

MrsKitty · 08/02/2011 07:10

I think that's pretty good - DD was over 1 before she dropped her night feeds.

emmylou157 · 08/02/2011 07:55

DD is 6.5 months and up until 3 nights ago she was waking every 2 hours for a feed we are now down to 10pm, 1am and 6am but I don't know how long this will last as she has also started refusing to go to sleep til late and would go to bed at 7.30 before. Am just praying we don't go back to 2 hourly as I go back to work in a week.

EsmeWeatherwax · 08/02/2011 23:47

Yes, and mine is 22 months. [Gibbers quietly in the corner]

Undutchable · 08/02/2011 23:51

Mine is 18 months Esme [also gibbers]

Sossiges · 08/02/2011 23:57

Yes & mine is 20 months. [Stop gibbering, Esme]. Just lately, she's been going to bed (very) late & occasionally sleeping through Shock, but other nights it can be an all-night feedfest. Worst is when she decides she wants to get up & try on clothes/watch tv/read books & then won't go back to sleep for hours. I'd rather feed all night than put up with that.

X-post with Undutchable who I see is also gibbering. Come on you two, what you both need is a nice soothing glass of red & some chocolate cake Smile

Undutchable · 09/02/2011 07:27

Where's my cake? Grin

Sossiges · 09/02/2011 21:01

You had two slices, have you eaten them already? Grin

veganette · 09/02/2011 21:04

13 months old DD also feeds all night long!

Undutchable · 09/02/2011 22:37

It was smashing cake and I also had a glass or three of wine.

DS1 has always slept through, in his own bed - even when he is poorly. DS2 is my payback Wink

porcamiseria · 10/02/2011 21:53

ouch, thats tiring

assume you have tried to fill on solids as well as BF?

Fernie3 · 11/02/2011 20:48

Hi well after hmm a week of trying to settle her without feeding in the night for one feed i have given up. It turns out that despite many many milk feeds and niw three small food feeds she really is starving so i give up and now i am back in my familiar mums netting and feeding position with her looking up at me with a relieved look on her face - well relieved and dare i say slightly " i told you so".
I did have a slight trauma yesterday which has led me to be extra cuddly with her though as well when my 2 year of FED her a googly eye which i had to pull of the roof of her mouth.

I know thats not related to this post but i had to tell someone because i think my heart rate has only just settled.

I think you will have to accept that night feeding will go on a bit longer. I actually find it "easier" in a way that it's milk that they want - and are easily satisfied and put back to sleep without too much bother. It's when they wake up just screaming for no reason you start to lose the will to live.

Sorry to hear about the googly eye.
