Help! Have been pinned to the sofa for the last two hours by nibbling baby!

Should I take 12wk DD off the breast or leave her there? She's been feeding on and off for the last two hours. Whenever I try to take her off she starts gulping furiously.

DH is out and I'm STARVING! This is first time she has actually slept in the evening. Normally she's very unsettled or actually screaming the house down so it's a massive breakthrough that she's calm and sleeping. If I remove her from the breast it could upset her couldn't it? I'm so hungry though!

Help!

Go get some food, if she crys for a few mins its fine she wont come to no harm, also might bring her round enough so she feeds properly b4 nodding off.

well.. it might upset her. or she might be ok... try it and see!

if she cries then make something one handed
or use a sling?

I'd agree, put her down, get supplies: food, drink, magazine, remote control. She may well complain, but won't come to any harm for a few minutes.

Then stick her back on, et voila, mum and baby happy .

Wow - the result is something I would never have thought possible! Took her off, she grumbled for a bit but didn't really wake up so I put her in her cot, ran to the kitchen and made the best pasta ever! Unfortunately I left the baby monitor in the bedroom so I couldn't hear if she was crying or not but I decided a bit of unplanned controlled crying was okay under the circumstances...

Such a brilliant result - literally the first time she has slept in the evening! Thanks everyone, I think I would have stayed here, too scared to move, until the morning with my boobs half chewed off! Now, to get my dinner eaten before she wakes up...
