lovely baby ds2 6m old, lovely lovely new motherhood again (ds1 is 7 now) but

ds won't take a bottle at all. and he won't have a proper feed except lying down (in my bedroom!). and he feeds at the moment at 7am, 11am, 2pm, 6.30pm, 11pm 4am.

i'm weaning him, he has little nibbles of stuff 3 x a day but not that interested.

i'm feeling alternately stoic/happy/desperately trapped.

any advice very gratefully received.

x

Not sure i canbe of help sorry. I have a similar problem so am hoping you get some good advice soon. My dd is 5m and wont take a bottle either. I went back to work for 2 days this week and she went on hunger strike - i have such stubborn children! Grin

sophable so sorry you are feeling this way. Haven't got any advice for you unfortunately but hopefully this will bump for you.

Has he never fed except lying down in your room, or is this a recent change?

DS2 is nine months now, and I can only feed him in his room, as he is too distracted by the world (but he does take bottles when I am at work which makes it easier). Hopefully, if he was feeding elsewhere before, this is just a phase which will pass.

PS agree with you re new motherhood second time round. I have a five year gap, and it is lovely.

sophable have you talked through your feelings with a Bfing Counsellor?

Heathcliffscathy · 22/01/2011 00:01

short answer is no.

thought i was well out of the bfding counsellor woods!

I've only phoned them twice, one was at 7months with DC1 and the other time was 2.6 with DC2. Don't think it matters what age your DC are, they are just their to help Smile
