Breastfeeding 10 week old & periods.............

I am exclusively breastfeeding my 10 week old baby girl, I started taking the mini-pill on the 27th December 2010, I started my period the same day (this lasted until the 29th December 2010)

It is now the 7th January 2011, and I have started bleeding heavily today????????????

DP & I DTD last night, is this a reason??

I didnt want to take any pill as breastfeeding is an effective contraception (not 100% i know) but surely i shouldnt be having periods this early and this frequent? is it because i am taking th mini-pill???

I don't know much about the mini-pill, sorry. I BF on demand, co-slept and carried around DD in a sling but still got my periods back at 9 weeks. I would be tempted to see your GP about the heavy bleeding 2 weeks after your period though.

I am also BF on demand, also co-sleep and hoping to get a connecta carrier i think.

how are you finding co-sleeping?

Well DD is 2.3 yo now so I'm finding co-sleeping a pain in the backside she snores almost as badly as DH. I am gently easing her into sleeping on her own (aided by my chronic pregnancy insomnia).

But up until I got too big to get comfortable I loved co-sleeping, I will definitely miss it. I don't know how I would have carried on BF so long if DD had been in a different room at 6 mo.
