Vitamin D supplements and breastfeeding

I've been to see a rheumatologist about a back problem and he did a few blood tests as I'm coeliac and wanted to check up on a few things. It turns out that I have a vitamin D deficiency and he's prescribed some supplements which I gather are quite a high dose, to be taken once a week for 8 weeks. Will this be a problem as I am still bf-ing? She's 10 months and has 2-3 feeds a day (am, before bed and sometimes mid afternoon).

I think you're supposed to take vit D while breastfeeding anyway.

I would think it would be a good thing. You might want to ask a doctor's advice regarding vitamin D supplements for your baby as well.
