2.5 wk old feeding frenzy - normal?

Help! Our first two weeks were pretty relaxed, demand feeding going well and just a couple of feeds during the night. We had a couple of days intensive feeding which I think was the 10 day growth spurt.
However, in the last two days all DD wants to do is feed, if she isn't feeding she is restless or crying to be fed. Last night she was fed at 10pm, 12pm, asleep for 2 hrs then awake and feeding or wanting to be fed from 2-7am (arrgh). I thought she would sleep now, but apart from a couple of brief naps she has wanted to be fed pretty much all day so far!

The health visitor said that constant feeding is normal at this stage, but this much?! Please tell me it gets better soon? Can I do anything to help things?

It is normal and it will get better, I promise. Sounds like she is just increasing your supply so grab the remote, hot drink and plenty of cake and feed, feed and feed some more. If anyone else is around make sure they do the nappies, tea and bring you plenty of drinks and snacks.

Congratulations on your DD, sounds like you are a great mum Smile

Thank you! Sometimes you just need to hear that it will get better :)

DH is being fab with all the other stuff apart from feeding. I hadn't thought of increasing supply - there is such a lot to learn!!

Thanks again x

Does sound like she is just doing that Cisfor, but if you want some reassurance you could always give one of the Bfing Helplines a call Smile

Totally normal and it WILL get better. Lots of cake, tea (de-caf!) and DVD boxsets are needed. Congrats!

my ds is 3 weeks and 2 days, sounds just like he was about a week ago, still like it but not half as bad now
