Sick baby - just breastmilk?

DD (8 months) has been sick 3 times in the last hour. She seems to want me to feed her even though she just puked the last lot up Sad

Should I feed her and not give her any solids till she's better? Will BF help her feel better?

BF was the only thing ds could keep down for any length of time at all if he had a vomiting bug or anything like that and it used to calm him down as well when he got upset at having been sick so I'd definitely say just bf whenever she wants it, little and often is best so that hopefully she can keep some of it down.

Yes and yes. You should feed her even if she is being sick and I too would not give solids until she is feeling a bit better.

The bfing will make her feel better and should help her recover much more quickly too.

Hope she is feeling better soon.

BF has been has been such a help with sickness bugs for us, we were told by an NHS direct nurse that it's the best thing to keep feeding as stops them getting dehydrated and it's worked with several sickness bugs now. Agree with lindsell, the comfort is great too. Good luck!

Thanks . . . I am worried, she hasn't been ill before!! (also hope I don't get it!)

Oh well, I have just done the parental rite of passage which is catching puke with a hand!

They do bounce back quickly at that age. And you aren't guaranteed to catch it. My 15mo has had a few bugs that I haven't caught so far (touching everything I can reach made of wood!)

She also lives on bmilk when she's ill. It's a godsend.
