hello, DD1 due in 4+2. Hoping to BF. Need to get bottles - have read that some plastics are banned for baby bottles in other countries for being (very mildly) toxic, but can't remember what they are called. Does anyone know please?

Can't remember either, but I think they're only toxic if you heat them up with drink/milk in in the microwave. It's the heating up of the plastic that causes the problem IIRC.

You should look for bottles that are BPA free. BPA is Bisphenol A. I think most bottles have been changed to BPA free now, though.

They are labelled as such nowadays. You can also get glass ones from Green Baby which are even better (if a bit more expensive) as they're totally unreactive.

glass ones are much easier to clean too, which is a nice bonus

interesting - my mum said go for glass (not sure what plastic ones were available in the 70s! Grin) will try to get the green baby ones if they're easier to clean. thanks!
