Help! BF baby stopped taking EBM from bottle. Any suggestions. I'm thinking to try a soft spouted beaker

Hi everyone!

I'm hoping you can help me.

My breast fed 3.5month old has stopped taking expressed milk from the bottle. I'm working 1 afternoon per week at the moment and want to return to 3 afternoons a week in January when she will be 5 months.

I'm thinking to try a soft spouted beaker. I'm unsure which brands to try.

She did drink expressed milk from a plastic cup the other day but I'd say for every bit she got twice that amount on her bib or neck so that isn't exactly a workable solution Hmm

Ideas, thoughts, suggestions, comments welcome

Please!

Julie

Have you tried a doidy cup? My HV recommended it to me, I gave ds milk EBM from it quite early, 4 months or so. Just take it really slowly. Or you could try a Tommy tippee free flow cup. No experience with spouted ones.

My DS completely went off bottles from about 2 months, we kept trying but he just fussed around. Until we tried a Nuk one, he was fine with that, i think the shape felt more natural. So if you'd rather really be using a bottle, that one might be worth a try.

another vote for a doidy cup - my friend had the same problema nd found her DD took EBM from a doidy cup no problem.
