Does anyone have a Tommee Tippe manual breast pump that can help me?

Hi,

I am struggling to get mine to work, there is suction, but the milk seems to get stuck within the concertina part of the pump and nothing is making its way into the bottle.

It seems to me that the valve is totally blocking the top of the bottle. Should it have a hole in it? As far as I can see it seems totally sealed by the valve. help! I'm getting in a right mess!

My little girl is 5 weeks old and this is my first attempt to express as I've got a couple of nights out to go to in two weeks time.

thanks!

Hi - we have one,yes the valve (thaat white soft bit that pokes down i'm assuming!)should be opening .. it looks like its closed but should open if you squeeze it. if you can't open it at all manually, it may be faulty - i think mine came with a spare one so maybe worth a try!
Enjoy the night out!

Is it the closer to nature one? I had that one and found that if you just squeeze the valve a bit the milk should start to fall into bottle if it's the first time you have used it.
I spent a lot of money on an electric one in the end and then found I could express the same amount by hand and it was a lot more comfortable.
Hope this helps

Thank you thank you thank you!!

I've just squeezed the valve and it went 'pop' and opened, and now water flows through when I tip it into the funnel - yay!

Might have to wait till tomorrow morning to try now though, DD has just drained both breasts and is fast asleep Smile
