Mastitis - did you feel your body is trying to empty itself? (Possibly TMI)

Hi all

Got diagnosed with mastitis yesterday.

When I first got ill I projectile vomited and lost control of my bladder (which at the time I put down to pelvic floor issues).

Today I have woken up in a pool of milk, milk is now pouring from my breasts, t-shirt soaked, baby gets it all over face when feeding. I also (sorry about this) have been for a poo 4 times today (not diarrhoea) and urinated very often and in what seems like large quantities (big gushes). I'm also sweating a lot.

Is this all normal?? I've had infections in the past but never felt like my body was "emptying".

are you on antibiotics? they made me poo lots! I also threw up but didn't get the other stuff - don't know if it's normal I'm afraid. Make sure you drink lots to make up for lost fluid!

Is it possible you could have a D&V bug as well as the problem with your breasts?

It all sounds really horrid . Hope you feel better soon.
