Has anyone tried any natural remedies for nipple thrush and did any work?

Tea tree oil is anti-fungal,but too strong even when diluted, and not to be mixed with breastfeeding!(cannot be taken internally)

Calendula is anti fungal too!If you buy dried Marigold flowers (Calendula) sold by weight in good healthfood shops, and make a fusion, by simmering in a small saucepan of water(to about a tablespoon of flowers) until the water becomes orangey yellow.Strain, and when cooled, dip cotton wool in and squeeze over nips.

Good for oral thrush as well, and can be taken internally as a tea too! Also Calendula cream was a godsend for nappy rash in my house!..

I tried Grapefruit Seed Extract tablets after a couple of months of struggling with symptoms of ductal thrush.
Wasn't definitively diagnosed and didn't respond to course of Fluconazole, but did have all the symptoms described in the very useful La Leche League thrush and bf leaflet.

Think I saw the original recommendation for them as a treatment for thrush on MN.

Am generally quite sceptical of unproven complementary therapy treatments, but my symptoms resolved after a couple of weeks of taking the tablets (and didn't recur)and it certainly didn't do any harm.

Bought the tablets from an online pharmacy.

Good luck Smile
