Glad to see this thread - am crazy with tiredness at the moment with DS and was wondering whether it was a growth spurt. How long does this one last? Am I going to get a break before the 4-month sleep regression kicks in? DS was down to waking once a night before this weekend (sob).

DS had his 3m check today and HV said 3m is definitely growth spurt time

Advice given was to feed, feed, feed for the next few days and hopefully he will re-adjust so to speak and go back to sleeping through Hmm Wink

Glad I read this thread!! My lo has never been best sleeper but now it's even worse!!!!

Ditto all of you, my once peaceful DD is now a night terror bless her!

DD is 13 weeks, the spurt lasted the best part of a week

A tip to avoid too much in the way of sleep regression at 4 months: start doing feeds in a quiet room, with no distractions, and ensure baby is getting his or her fill at each feed.

The reason for more frequent wake ups at 4 months is that they're becoming much more alert and are too distracted to feed properly during the day. The upshot is that they wake more at night when they have Mum all to themselves and make up for the feeds then. So if you can ensure the day time feeds are good, it should lessen the amount they wake at night.
