I'd forgotten how much it hurts Sad, but that all too familiar burn is back (I was a martyr to mastitis with last two DC) and I have a pea sized lump close to the areola.

Any suggestions on how to get rid?

have no idea but other than massage / breast pump suggest you go to GP to discuss.

Heathcliffscathy · 17/10/2010 22:16

poor you.

right: hot bath/flannel on boob. then really go for it massage wise massaging towards the nipple.

or i've also heard holding hotwater shower head against it.

also hot flannel then cold flannel

My sister had one recently and ended up on antibiotics - she finished breastfeeding her youngest nearly 3 years ago!

Errr...the last time I b/f was 8 yrs ago and I still have "crusty" nipple every so often - hard bits from a bit of seepage when washing boobs in the shower (I know...YUK!) When I squeezed them and got a bit of almost black liquid coming out I went to the doctot who said this was nothing out of the ordinary! I guess once you've B/f the channels are always open!!!
