Comfort milk advice needed- also carobel

Hi there

has any one used comfort milk and/or carobel?

I was making up comfort milk feeds with cooled boiled water which the advice line said is bad as the formula can't dissolve properly andcould be hurting ds's tummy.

We are not being put onto carobel which also needs to be added to the milk 30 mins after water is boiled.

How are people coping with this for night feeds? My ds is a typical man- screams for a feed so I needto have it ready Eddie!

Grateful for any and all advice!

X

when i need to give DD a fresh bottle quickly i make it up with half hot water, let the powder dissolve and then add cool water. The result is instantly drinkable.

when we did night feeds i used to make the bottles up before i went to bed with hot water and then cool them quickly in a bowl of cold water for about 10 minutes then straight into the back of the fridge until i needed them. 20-30 seconds in the microwave brings them back to room temperature for drinking.

Thanks so much for your response.. Does anyone know if that works for bottles made with carobel?

I found I didn't need thickeners/ gaviscon etc. for the night bottles. I'm not sure why, but they were much further apart and it was ok.

We started carobel last night and usually the only times he doesn't cry are betweennight feeds but all of a sudden last night he was screaming.. Wonder if I'd be better to leave it out of night feeds..

Feel so low with all this crying :-(
