I have never moaned about night feeds - in fact actually look back with fond memories on that middle of the night snuggly feed.
You prob think i`m completely bonkers, but my exclusively breast fed baby has slept thro the night every night without fail since she was 6 weeks old (now 13 weeks ).

She has at least 12 hours sometimes 13-in fact when its time to do the school run i have to actually wake her to feed otherwise she wouldnt bother .
Shes well and gaining weight etc but i kinda feel cheated ?
Has anyone else had a similar baby and is that it for keeps ?
Please dont tell me i`m barmy for moaning-i just want to know its not unheard of and i love her so much i actually miss it-evenm bought myself a gorgeous feeding chair for night feeds -what a waste of money that was !!

Don't worry. You'll hit the 16 week growth spurt and 4 month sleep regression soon, and then you'll want to pull your hair out you won't feel cheated any more. Grin

If not, you can always send that glider to me charity

PosieComeHereMyPreciousParker · 13/10/2010 09:18

My first two were the same and didn't have any glitches. Both slept from six weeks, dd1 and ds3 no such luck!!

curlyLJ · 13/10/2010 09:23

My DD did it from 8 - 16 weeks and hasn't done it again since...

We are now waking every 4 hrs on a good night, every 2.5 on a bad one.
Make the most of it while it lasts Grin

narmada · 13/10/2010 09:29

Erm, no. My DD woke every 45 minutes for the first 3-4 months of her life and slept only for about 8 hours in every 24. Hell, I definitely felt cheated, I can tell you. Snuggly night feeds?? Whaaaaat?

Zimm · 13/10/2010 09:36

mine has done from 9pm til 5am from 4 weeks.

prettybird · 13/10/2010 09:47

Ds tried to sleep through from 2 weks but becasue he wasn't gaining weight well, I had to wake him to feed him for a few weeks Shock.

Barring that, we had one sleepless and one disturbed night Grin.

The one night where he wouldn't sleep, I refused to feed him becasue I didn't want him getting into the "habit" Hmm. (Gave him cuddles and eventuially a bottle of water. Think I fed him at about 5 am)

It's all a bit hazy now: ds is now 10 and still a brilliant sleeper! :)

I fed him for 13 months.

sparkle12mar08 · 13/10/2010 10:53

Ds2 did from weeks 8 to 18. It was glorious and I felt reborn. From week 18 to 18 months he woke 2-4 times every sodding night...

sobloodystupid · 13/10/2010 10:55

dd is 16 weeks and will sleep sometimes from 7 until 2 am. I thought I was blessed! Am very Angry now!

BlathAaarghskite · 13/10/2010 11:10

My DS slept through the night from 8 weeks. I was asking the HV's if I should be waking him to feed him!!

DD is now almost 10 months old and we've only just cracked sleeping through the night.

Save the chair for the next DC. You may need it!

MumNWLondon · 13/10/2010 11:16

Ds2 slept all night (10-8) every night from 8 to 16 weeks (I always woke him at 10 for feed). At 16 weeks he started waking up twice a night. Although it settled at once in the night, he never slept through as EBF baby again (tried EBM top ups, didn't help at all, also bedtime formula at 23-23 weeks didn't help (although resulted in one night waking not two).

However at 25 weeks weaned and introduced night time formula and he's sleep every night this week.

NellyTheElephant · 13/10/2010 13:31

Yes... mine were all exclusively bf, DD1 slept through with no feeds or wakes (approx 7pm-7am) from 8 weeks, DD2 did it from 10 weeks and DS from 12 weeks (although DS needed a little encouragement, whereas the girls got their on their own). All were quite small babies at birth (DD2 smallest at 6 lb 1 oz), but gained weight really really well. None of them ever relapsed (despite dire warnings about growth spurts from all my friends!!). I certainly never felt cheated... more like jubilant!

Actually - that's not quite true regarding 'never relapsed'... DD2 went through a nasty stage of habit waking at 4am when she was about 13 months old although thankfully got through it after a few months. DD1 started to suffer from nightmares when she hit 3, DD2 (now 3) gets up most nights to go to the loo and despite claiming she tries to be as quiet as a mouse does a fabulous impression of a herd of elephants and wakes me up and then someone is ill or loses their teddy or who knows what all else.... So I now get woken maybe once or twice a week. They were MUCH more reliable as babies, DS at 18 months is still the least likely to wake me!

2greatboysandabump · 13/10/2010 17:07

All 3 DSs have slept through from about 9 weeks. DS3 is currently 19 weeks and sleeps 9/10 hours most nights Smile. If I remember correctly think DS1 & DS2 started waking in the night around 9 months though but by then I was giving them formula. Plan on BF DS3 until at least 12 months or even longer.

Wallace · 13/10/2010 17:17

Another one here that slept through from early on (9 weeks) He would do up to 13 hours a night. Then he hit 4 months and didn't sleep through again until he was 2!

Franup · 13/10/2010 22:55

My dds were pretty good, 10-12 hours from 8 weeks - a couple of regression stages at the classic times - and then really great from 6ms. Unfortunately when I potty trained dd2 at just turned 2, she woke right up if she needed a wee in the night and had to be taken to the toilet. This lasted for a year!

Ds from 6ms woke once a night until he was 18ms. He aburptly stopped and has been fine for the last year, including through potty training.

PotPourri · 14/10/2010 22:08

Man. I am so unbelievably jealous. I hope it does continue for you.

Try to remember the sleep deprivation feeling - the snuggly feed makes it bearable - but don't wish the sleep away!

fakeblondie · 15/10/2010 00:01

Wow- i have just had half a bottle of red wine knowing full well itll be 9 am before i need to feed ! Apart from that its nice to know she is normal and not going too long-im actually ALMOST a lactation consultant but got my mummy hat not my prof hat on at mo-always was of the belief that bf babies do wake in the night end of ! Perhao=ps nor=t. I really do miss it tho and wont mind in the least if she wakes again .
First 8 weeks was the opposite so we have gone from one extreme to the other x

My dd2 slept from 8 weeks to 17 weeks (10 hours). Not too bad since but it didn't last!
