BF baby, green poo today?

DS is 17 weeks old, exclusively breastfed and has had numerous green nappies today. Not much in them in terms of quantity so hard to see that it could be tummy upset as I would assume there would be lots each time?

He tends to pass copius amounts of wind fooling me into thinking his nappy will be full but when I change it there's not a lot of poo but it is green.

Is this a foremilk issue or upset tum? I can't think of anything I've eaten to upset him and he did a normal mustard nappy first thing this morning. He has been quite grumpy and gassy though all day.

Should I be worried? No temperature or vomiting although he has been slightly snuffly/runny nosed of late.

It could be a fore milk issue, but sometimes you do just get green nappies. I remember DS went through a couple of phases of these, even though I was sure his feeding pattern hadn't changed and that he was getting enough hind milk.

If he's otherwise OK, I'd just see how it goes. More than likely, things will return to normal soon enough.

I remember DDs first green nappy - was ready to take her to Drs Blush I think most bf babies have green poos at some point, agree with 5dollar's advice

I think he's just doing it to keep things interested. Seriously, I wouldn't worry at all.

DD always had green poo and copious amounts of it

I took her to get checked on a number of occasions and the upshot was she just did green poo

I recall DS had some green poos when he was viral (with cough / cold) at about that age.

If he's OK otherwise and still feeding well think I'd just keep an eye on it and carry on as normal.

DS2 nearly 12 week old and guess what his nappies consist of just now...? yep - green poo! he is feeling under the weather just now, got a bad snuffly cold, so I'm sure they will return to normal soon (the poos!).

If he is feeding well and you have no other worries over his usual habits then I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks everyone. He is feeding ok-ish, has had a few times today where he won't latch on, just screams and pulls away, but this is usually followed by a big trump and some more (green) poo and then he'll latch on.

I think I'm worrying because I seem to remember reading somewhere once that green poo = tummy bug.

Anyway, he is asleep now, must be worn out as he's had very little sleep today.
