switching from breast to cows milk at 1yr...

hi all...

my daughter is nearly 11 months old now, and i am still breastfeeding her. she doesnt take a bottle, and drinks water out of a sippy cup. i breastfeed her morning and evening only.

my plan has always been to switch from breast to cows milk at 1 year (for a bit of non-boob time before i get pregnant again, and also in the hope that periods will normalise!)

so...i have tried giving her some warm milk in her cup in the morning before and after breastfeeding, but she throws a paddy every time i try! i cant trick her because she is old enough to know where my boobs live and pull them out!!

Im just looking for tips really about how to tackle the change. I was hoping a month would be long enough to make the transition, but am i being unrealistic? do i need to give her milk in a bottle for the sucking/comfort factor? I was also thinking of giving her milk in her cup during the day to get her used to the taste etc in a non-comfort drinking time.

help! should i just carry on for a bit longer, or would that make it even harder?

try getting someone else to do it, whilst she hasn't had a drink fo a bit.

i think i started giving EBM in cup, then changing.

Watching as we are in pretty much the same situation here - DS is happy to have sips of water or milk from a sippy but only tiny amounts, will he eventually drink more? Confused
