I'm preg with DC2 due in a couple of months but DS (2 and 1/2) is an obsessive nipple tweaker (despite not being breastfed for 18months).
He understands that there's a baby in Mummy's tummy but don't think he gets that he's not going to have exclusive access to my boobies any more Grin
Would love to explain it more - can anyone help?
TIA

This one does, worked well for DC1 + DC2.

This one has no words and features BF pictures so it is good for prompting discussion about what is happening in the pictures.

I second nigglewiggle's suggestion, and there's a partner book "Waiting for Baby" to go with it.

Can I up the ante? Anyone seen a toddler book featuring twins and bf?

tassisssss · 20/09/2010 19:58

Mama, that usborne one that Babieseverywhere is just lovely and when they go to visit the new baby in hospital there are twin babies in the neighbouring bed.

We also loved the Topsy and Tim new baby one and I'm fairly sure that features BFing too (realise the twins aren't the babies though!).

I liked big sister now
it has breastfeeding and a warts and all depiction of life for a small girl who has just got a baby brother.

Does anyone know a book suitable for a toddler who's about to become the neglected middle child?

popeonarope · 20/09/2010 20:01

I have both the one nigglewiggle suggested and 'waiting for baby' the matching book for explaining pregnancy. Both are fab and sadly no longer required. If I can dig them out - OP do you want the FFP? :)

My son adored The Baby's Catalogue at that age (still does now sometimes). No words, but lots of lovely illustrations about babies & toddlers generally. There are a couple of images of a baby breastfeeding (my son was really excited after DD was born and he saw her feeding as it was "like the book, Mummy".) It also has some twins in it MamaChris, but not feeding Grin.

Katie Morag and Tiresome Ted is about a new baby in the family and KM not being v happy, and the baby is shown bfing. Actually I think Mrs McColl bfs in every book

\link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/Biggest-Bed-World-Picture-Lions/dp/0006646816\The Biggest Bed in the World} - depicts mum having twins and then triplets, cosleeping and breastfeeding. My DD really liked this book. It was very sweet.

real photos, bf, realistic, cant remember if any twins. some annoying americanisms - 'diaper'

peppaandgeorge · 20/09/2010 21:06

Topsy and Tim and the New Baby is excellent. Their friend's mum has a baby and she breastfeeds him.

jumpyjan · 20/09/2010 21:10
