DS is nearly 4wks, ebf, has been getting on well with it.

Has always seemed a bit windy, but worse in last week or so and have been using infacol as he has been colicky with it which has helped.

He has been a bit fussy feeding today and classic colic symptoms. Has pulled away while i was feedng a lot this morning and the last two feeds have come straight back up again. He doesn't ever feed for more than about 15mins, but more like 5-10mins. Also although lots of wet nappies, there has only been little smudges of poo in the last day or so, compared to fillng his pants usually.

Is it just wind/colic or perhaps just my milk changing? Or do i ned to take him to the Dr?

Thanks Smile

Could be nowt, but may be reflux.

Can make them unsettled and doesn;t always mean they throw up.

If he is producing wet nappies, then sounds like he is well hydrated.

Give her a phone, put your mind at rest.

DS2 did this but I just fed him again, meant I was feeding constantly Shock - if it happens again yes worth discussing with GP.

I saw the HV this afternoon as he had been sleeping almost constantly since i last posted and was not interested in any milk.

She agreed it was probably the colic/wind but to keep an eye on him as it might be a bug.

He had a feed about 5pm that was quite a decent length and stayed down, wind came up easily. Has been asleep since though, so either he is feeling a bit under the weather or is gearing up for staying up all night.

This is exactly what my DS2 (now 13 weeks) did at the beginning. I finally worked out that I was actually overfeeding him which was giving him a sore tummy - basically, when he was tired he would act as though he was really hungry, but then fuss at the breast, twist and turn etc. Once I worked it out, I gave him a dummy when he started fussing and lo and behold he was asleep within a minute.

A couple of months on, he is still a very sicky baby, but the colicky symptoms disappeared as soon as I stopped feeding him so much and got him to sleep instead!

That is really interesting. My milk seems to flow quite quickly so i wonder if perhaps he has too much too soon iyswim? Has put on a very good amount of weight too. Was 9lb2oz bithweight, then 8lb10oz at 10days old, now at 4wks he is 10lb9oz (but has got very long)

No real sick since the other day, but more bouts of colic.
