DD was down to just the one feed a day (bedtime) and I decided on Saturday that that would be her last feed. She loves her cow's milk during the day so was quite happy last night for DH to give her a cup of milk and she went to sleep OK.

I wasn't expecting to get engorged or anything as I've only been doing one feed a day for quite a while now, but will I get pain or anything, or leak? It feels a bit odd to think I won't be feeding DD again, but it feels right to be stopping now.

I stopped at 13mo after DD was down to one feed a day too and nothing happened to my boobs. No engorgement, no leaking, nothing.

i stopped at a similar stage, was only doing one feed too, didn't notice any effects at all tbh

Thanks, that's great. I hadn't notice anything so far, so am relieved to hear I won't suddenly start leaking everywhere Smile.

Did anyone feel a bit Sad? I am glad I made the decision to stop as I was getting fed-up, and feel I've done my bf bit, but last night surprised DH by blubbing after DD was asleep.

I'm worrying what'll happpen when I go down to 1 feed a day - currently dd only ever has one boob per feed so you can definitley tell which boob I fed from last as its so much smaller! If I'm only using one a day will they never match?!

CatIsSleepy · 13/09/2010 11:53

yes i was sad, i think I had hardly any milk left by then though-dd2 was really just having a token suck, and she took to having bottles instead with great gusto.

Thanks CatIsSleepy, my DD was having a decent length feed at bedtime, but I think quite a lot was sucking rather than drinking. She loves her cups of milk, drinks it in about 2 minutes flat!
