BF 3wk old ... can feel a lump in breast... to do with BF or something else?

Excl BF 3wk old DS

Boobs are obviously large with various lumps and bumps

But can feel one more obviously than the others (it's near the surface more, IYGWIM)

Noticed it near the end of pregnancy. It's quite hard to touch but this varies (i.e it can feel softer) at different times

Does this sound like a BF thing? Or something else?

I'm not sure that it is bf related if you noticed it before the baby was born. Is it painful at all? Is there any difference in the appearance of the skin?

Not painful and can't see difference to skin

I had a lump in a previous pregnancy which was checked by breast clinic and found to be completely unremarkable (in a good way, IYKWIM)

Wondered if this was something similar, if it was something that can occur in pregnancy/post-natal period

Probably nothing but you know you need to go to your GP straight away and get referred.

BF can create all sort of lumps but it is also a time when women notice other changes in their boobs because you're looking at them so much. Therefore you need to go and see your GP. I suspect they may want to keep an eye on it to see if it changes but if it doesn't go after a week or so I would want to be referred to a breast clinic (as a non urgent case) to get it checked by an expert. I know it's a stress and a worry but you can't muck around with this sort of thing so get it checked.

I did have this after ds1 and it was just a weird lump that was fine
