Is it even possible to be allergic to your own milk?

I dont have any major problem with dairy BUT I do have to be careful of the amount of dairy products i eat if I overdo it I get very bad stomach pains (no bowel problems just the pain) so i can eat say milk chocolate but not drink a glass of milk. I have no idea why it is like this I just avoid too much milk so its never been a problem.

since I have been feeding however have noticed that if any milk leaks on my skin I get very irritated skin and if its alot a rash. I have stoped wearing a bra at night because most of the leaking stopped (and I find it hard to sleep in a bra) but yesterday woke up drenched and the next morning had a horrible itchy sore red spotty rash, its a little better now but still itchy and sore. I assumed it was either an actual rash (I even thought shingles after googling Blush or irritation (possuble with waking up wet). BUT last night I woke up with the same thing in a different place (now in bras again!)

Is it possible to be sensitive to your own milk?? Its not a major problem more of an intersted query!

That's probably thrush and you can get treatment at the chemist :)

You can't be allergic to something your body has made no.

Agree with whomoved - you would be very sick if you became allergic to something from your own body (I am thinking auto-immune diseases).

Could be thrush, could be dermatitis from being next to something damp and it mixing with sweat.

ooooooh, this sounds horibly familiar! I have had the same, I also came out in a rash on my foot when I spilt some milk on it, so I am convinced that I am sensitive to my own milk.

with dd2 and ds it happened and neither time gas any health proffessional (and I mention it to anyone who will listen) thought i could be reacting to my milk. Only one Dr has said it could be thrush, but i had no other symptoms, the cream she gave me didn't seem to help.

I sleep on a folded towel with a matress protector, change breast pads regularly and wash often and it keeps it at bay. I avoided milk for a few weeks too, and seem to be able to drink it again now. (ds is 3 1/2 months).
