My 20mo son self weaned 5 days ago, after dropping down to 1 feed before bed for a few weeks and then gradually asking for a feed less and less. But now one of my boobs is sore! Have tried asking him to feed (in a strange role reversal) to ease it, but he says no.

Has anyone had a similar problem/any suggestions on how I can help it?

I threw my breast pump away a few days ago; perhaps a silly move on reflection! I figured he was feedig so infrequently that the milk would just stop, but it feels like it has all built up over the past few days.
Ouch.

can you hand express just a little?

otherwise cold cabbage leaves are soothing if stinky. you can buy special cold gel packs too.

sorry I don't have any advice but was relieved to see a 20mo who self weaned! My DD is 16 months and showing no signs of wanting to stop and I would like to stop now really. She shouts 'mummy booby' really loud when she wants feeding and I am ready to stop!
Am hoping she will stop soon! I only feed DS1 for 7 months and DS2 for 6 months so this is new to me!

It will pass after 3 days or so, don"t express if you want to stop, the more you express the more milk will be produced i went cold turkey and had to take painkillers and sleep with 2 bras so they had no let down! frozen cabbage leafs r good but stink when defrosted on hot skin!

GOOD LUCK
