DS not drinking a lot of milk

I'm still breastfeeding my 7 mo DS, albeit only once at night as he just doesn't want it.

I'm concerned about his milk in take - currently he only has 6oz with his cereal and some from me at night. He drinks water throughout the day.

I've tried most types of formula, and I've tried putting some banana in his sippy cup to change the taste (as it really is rank) and he still doesn't want it.

Do you think I should be giving him some sort of vitamins to make up for the lack of milk? He has a very varied diet with chicken, fish, potatoes and all sorts of veg that even my H and I don't eat.

Thanks

What about yoghurts, cheese, milk and cheese and butter mashed up in his potato for example?

He has a couple of yoghurts a day, I also try to give him cheese spread whether it's on toast or in a sarnie.

I also do put a little milk and butter into his potato - do you think it's enough?

a couple of yogurts a day is quite a lot, so that's good. Have you heard of a breastfeeding strike, when the baby won't breastfeed for a few days but then picks it up again? Keep offering the breastfeeding during the day, he may want it again.

Maybe breastfeed him before his breakfast when he's hungriest?

Thanks Belgo, I'll that a try x

at that age milk should be the main part of his diet.

try and breastfeed him before solids when he is hungry, esp in the morning.

eg 7am BF
8am breakfast
11am BF
12pm lunch
3pm BF
5pm supper
7pm BF
