DD become very grumpy in last 36 hours - my diet?

Hello,

DD is now 3.5 weeks and in the last week we have made the successful transition from combination feeding to EBF, she is gaining weight in line with charts and we have teh correct amount of nappies :-)

However in last 36 hours she has been more grumpy and harder to settle than usual and has sicked up after every feed (just possets so I am happy that is not unwell, but previously she was not a sicky bab). My mum thinks it could all the dairy I eat as my sister was the same whenever she ate dairy - is it worth cutting teh dairy? I was also wondering if my milk was changing (I think she's having a growth spurt as is v hungry) and this has temporarily upset her tummy.

As I say, it really is just possets, it's more her mood that is worrying me.

Zimm - a few babies do seem to react to dairy but it is definitely not worth trying to cut out dairy at this stage - it is very hard to completely remove dairy from your diet because it's in so many food items.

Babies do have phases of grumpiness :) If this doesn't pass and her symptoms get a lot worse, then you could think about going down the non-dairy route. But it's far more likely to be a need for extra cuddles and closeness for developmental reasons, and extra feeds for growth reasons....it is almost certain to get a bit easier as this stage passes :)

Thanks tiktok - she is having a good sleep now so I am hoping she will feel better she wakes up. A seven hour (5.30am til 12.30pm) screaming/eating period did have me on my knees somewhat!

I have found that when my milk supply increases, DS gets a bit sicky, usually a hungry day where he feeds lots and gets grumpy, is followed by a sicky day when the milk comes in a bit more and he overstuffs himself.

DD is 3 weeks today and for the last 24 hours has been feeding like a demon and pretty grumpy (she's normally really laid back) so am hoping that there is a growth spurt around now.

Not much help to you but shows that someone else is in the same boat!
