HUMPH. DD seems to be self-weaning.

She's 18 mo. She now has a 2 minute bf before her afternoon nap and a 3-4 minute one before bed. She doesnt lay and bf contentedly- does all sort of acrobatics and some days it's no longer than a 1-2 minutes before she wants to go to bed.

I think ds stopped of his own volition around the same age.

Should I do anything or just let go? I was happy to bf til she's 2, as per WHO guidelines. She hasn't been ill yet and I feel like bf had something to do with it-perhaps not.

I would just let it go, if it's the right time then it's the right time. I never had the choice with mine-flippin 11 months she self weaned. I was gutted-tried to force the issue for 5 days, then expressed for a further 2 weeks then eventually admitted defeat.

God you're lucky - flipping 2 1/2 yrs with 2nd DD - was pulling hair out as it was several times day and night! I think you've done really well and it seems like she's ready to move on...DD1 stopped at 8 months. they are both way less poorly than most of their friends. Plus one now has an academic scholarship and the other an art scholarship - not my brains!!!!!!!!!!
