HELP baby screaming when put to breast

Dear All,

My 6month dd is eating solids and breastfeeding. It has all be going well until 2 days ago. This week she has been ill with fever and red throat. Two days ago she started screaming everytime I put her to the breast to feed. I don't know what to do. She just starts screaming down the house and kicking. I still have quite a lot of milk, so I do not think that is the problem. Could it have been because she has been ill or could it be because of teething?

She will not take a bottle of milk either.

Thanks

Ear infection?

Thank you for the concern. I was not able to post an update over the weekend because our internet has been down.

It turned out that dd has roseola infantum. This explains her irritability. She is now getting over it and has started to breastfeed again. Although poor thing has been covered in red bumps.

Thanks!
