Absolutely fine.

Tessiebear · 29/08/2005 11:43

Experienced this with my DS's 1 and 2.
With DS1 he had a stomach upset that lasted for 10days and this made his poo green.
I have also heard that it can mean that a baby is not getting enough food - i think.
I hope someone else can be more helpful

I seem to remember my DS's poo changed to this sort of colour.Could be to do with formula, that can make poo more smelly too!!Poo does tend to change colour tho, it will eventually resemble adult poo when on solids!!! Yuk, sorry! Is DD's poo normal consistancy?!If you are worried contact you HV. Do u have a good one?

Jiz28 · 29/08/2005 11:53

Do have a HV so will contact tomorrow.. via answer phone though so I could do with a more immediate answer. I have also heard that green poo is a sign of something wrong .. too much foremilk? but can't remember detail .. hence worried request for advice! She has just recovered fron chicken pox but otherwise seems well.

If everything else is fine then it's not a problem. Ds used to have some terrifyingly green poos at that age - one memorable one was almost flourescent It scared the hell out of me at the time, but really it's not something to worry about unless there are other signs of illness.

highlander · 29/08/2005 12:22

oh yes

unless it stinks, then she may have a gut bug.

yes, my ds's are that colour too, matches my trousers

serah · 29/08/2005 20:28

I'm hazarding a guess here.. is the formula SMA??
Has something in it that turns poo green. Might put it in DPs food for a laugh actually

Jiz28 · 29/08/2005 20:43

Formula is Hipp Organic. Poo now back to normal mustardy yellow so my panic is over! No idea what it was but was glad to be reassured by via this thread.. thanks for all replies.... now if only her sleep problems could be sorted out this easily..... but that's another story!

For us - that colour was usually when dd2 was snacking and taking more of the sweet watery foremilk and not a lot of hindmilk.

flamesparrow · 30/08/2005 12:11

Same for us too... when DD was snacking and only getting foremilk it went a hideous shade of green.

I remember calling my friend in tears cos my baby's insides were obviously rotting away
