Warty-looking nipples (7 months pregnant)

Hope it's ok to post here as opposed to the pregnancy board - I thought there'd be more breast experts here!

I am seven months pregnant with my first, planning on BFing. My nipples have gone what I can best describe as warty-looking, kind of cracked, I guess, but not sore or itchy at all. Just the nipples, not the areola area. Is this normal? I did mention it to my GP, but she just said it's all normal - she didn't even want to look, so I don't feel that reassured. I just want to know they are ok, in case they aren't and I should be doing something so we don't rule out being able to BF.

Thanks.

Congratulations!

I would ask the MW at your next appointment with her. IME, the pores do seem to open up and look 'cracked', but to get some reassurance, ask someone who can take a look for you. Everyone is different too.

Sounds fairly normal to me - mine are like that and I'm currently feeding my 4th baby Grin

Thanks for the answers.
I feel a bit reassured - will prob check with mw when I next see her. Thanks.
