Hi just to let you know that following on from my request on this thread, MNHQ have updated this page.

I thought it would be good to collate some feedback on the page here.

My initial feed back would be:

  1. Provide links to DOH leaflet,WHO leaflet and Babyfriendly leaflets.
  1. Provide the alternative guidance about preparing in advance, rapidly cooling and refrigerating or using a flask of hot water.
  1. Explain that water must not have just boiled - the importance of waiting 30 mins is not only so the water will be 70 degrees but also so that the water won't be too hot and destroy nutrients/vitamins.

Please can others post their feedback on the new info page and the we can alert MNHQ to it later.

Well done, there was a good info and links on the judgey pants thread which I know you contributed to.

  • the safest way to have bottles quickly if feeding on demand
  • best way / safest to feed baby when out and about

TBH - there seems to be mass ignorance about this or people don't care about taking risks, I see mums mixing powder and cool water all the time - someone on another thread was given poor advice by midwife (who told them ok to mix powder with cool water).

Links to buy:

a) suitable thermometer
b) cool bag good for bottle
c) thermos flask to hold small amount of water
