Soya milk and poo, anyone else on soy formula

Is anyone else using soya milk for any reason? IT's regulated my son and he seems happy, but jesus does the poo smell. It's a rotten egg smell, no mistaken it if your in the same room and he's done one. Thankfully I''m only treated to 2-3 a day, rather than the 14+ from normal formula. Is the smelly poo a soy thing?

I could use his nappies to bring grown men to their knees.

What made you switch to soya? If your DS is intolerant to cows milk there's a chance he'll also be intolerant to soya too but maybe not to the same extent. Does he seem windy?

Might be worth chatting to your GP about hydrolised formula although you say he's happy! I'd keep an eye though - signs of wind, red sore bum, ezcema etc could indicate a bit of a reaction.

sigh

Windy, smelly poos, bit of a red arse (but maybe to be expected after weeks of diarrhea).

I hope not. GP prescribed soya as a last ditch attempt as noone knows why he started to refuse bottles/ lose weight/ have mad diarrhea.

You can get different formula on prescription from your GP.

My DS can't have cows milk or soya as he's intolerant.

Perhaps ask your GP for a trial of the hydrolysed stuff (I think it's called neocate). It tastes funny so you'll have to gradually switch but it might make a difference.
