Dd has had a sore bum and green poo for the last week or so and feeding has Also become increasingly painful during that time. I had to break off the feed tonight and go and get a bottle. Nipples now feel like they are burning. Are these things unrelated or could it be part of the same problem? I thought I would be ready to stop feeding now but I don't feel ready, yet I can't go through painful feeding again.

Sore bum/green poo can indicate teething, which can also make things painful for a few days as baby finds a comfortable position/adjusts latch to account for teeth. Might it be that?

No experience of thrush, so can't comment, sorry.

Thanks mrskitty. That is what I thought it was but the pain doesn't feel like poor latch pain as it is more of a burning sensation.

Teething drool can make your nipples more sensitive.

Does the burning stop when you're not feeding?

Don't know about the teething issue but Metanium is great for sore bums.

jemjabella, I didn't know that. That makes sense actually. I have expressed and bottle fed today and nipples feel a lot better for having a rest. I went to the clinic and the HV didn't think it was thrush and thought I could just be sore because she has been really fussing and pulling when feeding.

ineedsomemoresleep, HV gave me an antifungal last week because it was so bad but i will get some Metanium, thanks.
