... vouchers for Aptamil follow on milk.

On the form when I joined Aptamil baby club I ticked the box to say I was planning to BF and therefore didn't want info on FF, which they adhered to, fair enough. got other info from them about general baby stuff. and a cuddly polar bear

But now got a leaflet saying my baby is onto the next stage of development, needs more iron, zinc etc... the bizarre thing is that unlike their TV ads there is no mention of BFing at all (i.e. BFing is best for baby but if you decide to stop, use our follow-on etc).

Ugh. don't know why I'm surprised really, I know the rules only cover infant milks, I'm just a bit peeved. I can ignore the pushing of FF but if I was feeling insecure I'd take it to mean my milk wasn't enough IYSWIM. which it is especially as DS has a good diet.

shall I don a hard hat and/or hand out popcorn? I'm not a 'BFing Nazi' BTW, my DD had plenty of FF.

You joined their baby club! You have to expect them to try to sell you something! Follow on milk ads are obv talking shite and playing on parents' insecurities but you gave them license to target you.

can I have your cuddly polar bear

MathsMadMummy · 23/07/2010 11:36

yeah I know... for some reason I thought the box I ticked meant all FF info not just infant FF

I'm still surprised they didn't mention BF though. Although even when they do in TV ads its blatantly just to pacify the BF legislators
