Does it matter if i don't give her the 10pm feed?

So, just started weaning, DD is only having a little porridge for breakfast and a couple of cubes of veg in the evenings and sometimes a cube of fruit too.

On to of that she is having 5 7oz milk feeds oer day. Last night she just would not wake properly for her 10pm milk feed and in all honesty unless we wake her for it, she would not wake for it. So last night she went without and slept through the night - which she normally does anyway.

But my question is really is it ok for her to go that long without eating? Will basically be 12 hours between feeds. Do i just assume if she is asleep all is well, or do i still need to make sure she doeesn't go that long?

many thanks ladies

I assume formula fed baby? And I assume 6 months as you are weaning. 5 x 7oz is enough. No need to wake her up unless HV very worried about her being underweight.

FWIW one of the books I read (magic sleep fairy) said at 4 months 4 x 7oz was enough without any solids.

DS has been sleeping from 8pm-4am (most nights) since he was 4 weeks old, no ill effects that I can see, if he is hungry, he yells.

Sorry should have given age! She is 5 months, we started weaning early as she was turning into a hungry monster, but was still sleeping through at night but not at all in the day! She's slept through with a 10pm feed from 3 weeks, but with the extra solids, I wonder if she is just full up so doesn't need it, she never seems that impressed at being woken!

I guess i feel blessed that she sleeps so well and don't want to scupper it!!

If she is hungry she'll wake up for food.

Never wake a sleeping baby!

Right, I shall give it a go, but if i break her perfect sleeping record, I shall cry and it will all be your fault!!

Will let you know, thanks ladies
