Hi
A bunch of us are campaigning for increased breastfeeding support in Haringey as the powers that be decided to pull the post of "breastfeeding specialist midwife" (During National Breastfeeding week no less!).
Leaving us with only one specialist infant feeding co-ordinator for the whole borough (who is fab but only one person and not enough for the whole borough!).

Please please help us out by signing our online petition (especially if you are in North London but even if not if you agree with our cause!) and feel free to join our facebook group.

Thought the power of mumsnet may help with our cause.

I've signed. I know it's a bit frowned upon to mention another parenting site but Babycentre UK has a Lactivist board who may be able to help with your cause.

Thanks for this Thandeka - I signed the paper version at the breastfeeding awareness week picnic in Highgate Woods a few weeks ago and asked at the time whether it would be available online, precisely as I thought MN may be able to help! I've signed the online version now too. I really appreciated the support I got in Haringey during the early weeks and really want that same support to be available to other mums.

Definitely up for a bit of demonstrating (may as well get DS started young in learning to speak up for what you believe in ). I'll drop you a line.

Just made my DH sign the petition as well. I'm going to link to it on FB as well.

If you live locally please Come and support our action day!
Wednesday, 28 July @ 9.15 am

Main entrance, St. Ann?s Hospital, St Ann?s Road, Tottenham N15 3TH

What?s happening ? The protest coincides with the Haringey Primary Care Trust (PCT) board meeting. The PCT is the body responsible for providing breastfeeding support. We want to be there to tell them to ensure all mothers and babies have the support they need ! Please come along. We really need you there so we can show the board how many people care about breastfeeding.

If you have a baby ? bring him or her along. If you don?t have a baby ? just bring yourself. We?ll be very grateful for any extra pair of hands !
