Hello, how does the club work and can anyone join?

i would really like to start reading something worthwhile/memorible rather than another (sometimes) forgetable chicklit.

Hi! Lovecamping. I'm a rather adhoc member of the book club as when I'm working, I can't get through a book a month, whereas when I'm on holiday, I average 1 every 3 days! If you'd like a recommendation of something worthwhile/memorable and not chick lit, how about "The Forgotten Garden" by Kate Morton? I read it this summer & enjoyed it. Sorry, I can't send you my copy because we bought so much in USA that there was no room for it in my suitcase & I had to add it to the already extensive library in the villa we stayed in. Hope you like it. Oh, an if you want a reading task: How many female characters does Morton describe as "plump"?

lovecamping - Tillybookclub puts a list of books to vote for, you vote for the one that you want to read and then the winner gets announced. We read it and then reconvene on here for a discussion, Tilly sometimes manages to get the author along too. Anyone is more than welcome, we are having a break for the summer but keep an eye out.

I'm back - we'll be putting the selection page up on September 23rd and you can all vote for October Book of the Month.
