Hi, can anyone recommend a good psychological thriller (or new author to explore) please - nothing too heavy. I've read all the book by TM Logan, Louise Candlish, Lucy Clarke, Adele Parks, Harriet Tyce and quite a few by Claire Douglas.

Sharon Bolton, Lisa Jewell, Shari Lapena, Steve Cavanagh, John Marrs, CL Taylor are all fabulous authors!

I suggest you try Gillian McAllister, Erin Kelly, Lisa Jewell.

Barbara Vina (pseudonym of Ruth Rendell for her darker standalone novels).

Lucinda Berry. Start with the perfect child. I've read about 6 of hers in the last week or so.

Heidi Perks, Andrea Mara, Gillian Flynn

Oh my God NOT BA Paris!! Fine for a quick beach read but honestly really poorly written and ridiculous

Read the following Ruth Rendall books - Lake of Darkness, Going Wrong, and A judgement in Stone. Slow burn, beautifully written, character driven and haunting. Her “Barabara Vine” books are the same - reccomend A Dark Adapted Eye and A Fatal Inversion.

Closest modern writers that give me a similar vibe are Erin Kelly (who is open about the influence on her of RR) and Sabine Durant. Gillian Flynn really good also

Closer than you think by Karen Rose is a good intro to her stuff. I find her books pretty easy reading. But my favourite two authors are Robert Galbraith Strike series and Karin Slaughters books. I like her stand Alones but Will Trent series is my absolute fave. Grant county is the predecessor to that and is also good. I do enjoy Tami Hoag too.

I just finished beautiful ugly by Alice Feeney - set on a Scottish island (which instantly gives it many bonus points imo).

Can’t be a Stephen King, not the horror stuff, but the twisty psychological stuff

I’m reading Don’t let him in by lisa Jewell and struggling to put it down. It’s really good!
