@ Candy Clicker I'm reading Circus. It has been popular for a long time but I've just known it recently.

RabbitsRock · 04/07/2025 05:26

Smiled at moth & imagined one flying out between the pages of the book!

Fall on your knees by Ann Marie Macdonald. A Canadian author and apparent bestseller across the pond. Found it in a charity shop and have loved it; a family saga shared between four sisters set on an island off Nova Scotia around the time of the First World War and beyond.

Second favourite this month which I read in a few days was Homestead by Rosina Lippi- a book by chapter sharing the lives of different women living on a mountain in Austria and how they are interlinked.

I started the Pat Barker Trojan war trilogy very recently and am currently half way through the last one, The Voyage Home. Been a great read.

Several friends have recommended Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. Haven't started it yet but suppose to be very good.

Speckly · 11/08/2025 23:31

Theo of Golden by Allen Levi. Not my usual sort of thing (a Book Club text) but a really lovely read!

afraidberry · 13/08/2025 09:49

midnight library by matt haig

The fourth wing, iron flame and onyx storm will only appeal to those who like fantasy. I really wanted to like it and forced myself to read the fourth wing but I didn’t finish iron flame. The best book this month is The Daughter by TM Logan and I hope this finds you well

AlwaysBeingMe · 19/08/2025 09:18

Thanks - also wasn't keen on the Yarros books but will check out The Daughter 👍

100% the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley! Book 1

It's just so good!

Footle · 09/10/2025 19:58

Thread title reminds me of the young lepidopterist who picked out a book called Advice to Young Mothers, but was very disappointed by the contents.

I know who you are by Alice Feeney and None of this is true by Lisa Jewell

Rictasmorticia · 09/10/2025 20:48

By your side by Ruth Jones. The only time I have laughed out loud at a book.

Pandimoanymum · 13/10/2025 05:10

Stoneblind, by Natalie Haynes. A retelling of the story of Medusa but from her perspective, I loved it.

Everythingwillbeokay · 13/10/2025 06:19

The Heart's Invisible Furies. Really absorbing.

I have over my dead body on my kindle so will start on it as soon as I finish reading my current book (Beautiful Ugly)

All my mothers, I sobbed through it.
