Currently sobbing in my bedroom after reading two kids books (Keedie and A kind of spark by Elle McNicoll) found them to be very relatable to me (diagnosed autistic) and two of my daughters (9 and 13) has anyone else read these?

She’s a great author isn’t she?

A Kind Of Spark is on bbc iplayer, cbbc did a good job in the main - although as a mum of a child who has the same sensitivities around hair brushing as the main character is supposed to have, the very neat Dutch plaits the bbc costume team put her hair in didn’t ring true!

Yes, lately my DD13 has been asking for dutch braids but a) I am useless with hair and b) she has layers and c) she hates it whenever i try..
