Recommend a book for my mum?

Hello,

My mum is due to have her final 🤞🏻 op for breast cancer tomorrow and my daughter and I want to get her a book to read whilst she is resting. The problem is that I’m not an avid reader myself so not sure what to get. I’m keen to get something light hearted but also, want something that has no mention of the c word so that she can escape without thinking about it.

Please can you give me some recommendations 😊

Thank you

I like the Mary Lawson books - about families in rural Canada over the last 50 years.

Hope your DM is recovering well @mamagosh.

The Flatshare is free on BBC Sounds of she'd find listening to a book a bit easier? Flowers

I didn't get the responses before I went to the book shop but, ended up with Thursday Murder Club - the first book in the Richard Osman series - on the recommendation of the bookshop owner for something lighthearted/easy reading 😊

Appreciate the recommendations!
