Blood brothers - How I remember it is 2 brothers. One sleeps with others fiance. H beats wife almost to death when he finds out on the wedding night. Same to brother. Disappears and months later comes back and drowns one of her twins in a canal.

I cannot find this book anywhere! I can only find the play write which seems very different. Is it a different book?

Blood Brothers was a play turned into a Lloyd Webber musical by Willie Russell iirc. 1980s. Not the same plot though.
